Description
DANSAND® Filter sand helps to ensure the quality of our water. The product is an uncompromising and popular quality sand for well drilling and construction of water filters.
When we produce filter sand, it happens in a carefully controlled production process. We wash the silica sand completely clean of clay and dust, sort it and dry it with natural gas, so it is completely free of bacteria. Finally, we sift the filter sand so that we achieve a uniform and carefully defined product.
Together with Bentonite, the well is set so that it provides maximum water flow to the borehole.
Filter sand from Dansand can be produced in special gradings by agreement. By default, we provide sorts according to the grading scale, which you can find on this page. In addition to the above grain sizes, we offer base layers in the following three sorts:
8-16 mm
16-32 mm
32-64 mm
Base layer is made of round, sorted and washed lake stones. If desired, the stones can be disinfected.

Environmental information and disposal
Dust must be prevented. Packaging and used filter material should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.

- Bags of 25 and 15 kg (15 kg only for certain gradings)
- Big bags of 1000, 1250 and 1500 kg
- Delivered in bulk tanker as per agreement
To limit the formation of new dust, the filter sand can be passed through a hose using water from the tanker into filters at the waterworks. Instructions for filling water filters are included.
Along with the sand, we supply a sifting analysis that documents the quality. Dansand® stores the analysis and a physical sample of the delivered sand for five years from delivery.
